
Pianist Eri Nohira
Eri Nohira was born in Sapporo, Japan and began her piano journey at the age of four.
She pursued her initial piano studies under Prof. Nobuhito Nakai at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo. In 2015, Eri moved to Germany to further her education and earned a master's degree in piano from the University of Music in Freiburg under the tutelage of Prof. Christoph Sischka, graduating with the top grade of "very good." During her time in Freiburg, she performed with the university orchestra and successfully completed her Concert Exam in 2019. Eri expanded her musical horizons by studying chamber music with Prof. Markus Becker at the University of Music, Drama, and Media in Hanover, where she obtained another master's degree with distinction in 2022.
She has enriched her musical expertise through master classes and lessons with renowned artists such as Mikhail Voskresensky, Arnulf von Arnim, Michel Beroff, Pascal Devoyon, Björn Lehmann, and Gabriele Leporatti.
Eri Nohira has been recognized with numerous awards at international piano competitions across Japan, Italy, and Croatia. Her accolades include the special prize at the 6th Piano Competition in Tokyo, 2nd prize at the 25th Competition in Rome, 1st prize at the 23rd "Citta di Cortemilia" Competition, and 3rd prize at the Murai Grand Prix.
She has been able to gain experience with solo, duo, and chamber music concerts in Japan and throughout Germany. Her broad repertoire encompasses works from the Baroque period to contemporary compositions.
